Course Information:
We have compiled a recommended reading list for PTLLS candidates. Click the Amazon link below for more information. You will receive a book on the course but these books will be a help when you complete your homework.
You will need to bring with you, these books, photo ID, pens etc. The course will start at 9am on all days and finish at 5pm. You will have to complete a micro teach session at the end of the course so have a think on your subject and start planning this now. The subject can be anything you like form a first aid subject or flower arranging to how to use a power tool or cosmetics but IF YOU ARE DOING A FIRST AID COMBINED PTLLS YOU MUST CHOOSE A FIRST AID SUBJECT. The lesson is to be 30 minutes and you will have to write a plan and keep to it to use your 30 minutes fully. There must be an introduction, body summary with interaction and assessment of learning of your students.
You will be given some assignments, some have to be done in the evenings and the rest can be completed after the course and emailed to us. You cannot pass this course until your assignments are completed and passed to the required standard. If you submit an assignment that needs more work then you can re-submit. There are maximum time limits on submitting the assignments and these will be explained on the course. You need to allow the evenings to prepare your work for the next day.
There is no dress code for the course and tea/coffee is provided but there are various places locally that you can get lunch from or bring it with you to the course.
It is important that you ensure you know your first aid skills if you want to do the first aid instructors combined with PTLLS. If you are not fully confident of first aid skills you must revise before you come on the courses. We recommend that you complete in any case our online course by clicking here.
